Developer: Shivam Gupta (individual developer)

This Privacy Policy explains how the Phantom Signal mobile application ("the app") handles your information. Phantom Signal is developed and maintained by Shivam Gupta, an individual developer. Please read this policy carefully. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.

the short version

Phantom Signal does not collect your personal data or send anything about you off your device. The app asks you to enter a name so the story can address you personally, but that name is saved only on your own phone and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. There is no account and no login. The sections below explain this in full.

information you enter

The app asks you to enter a name so that the story can address you personally during the experience (for example, a message in the story may use the name you provide). This name is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us, to any server, or to any third party. You may enter a real name, a nickname, or anything you like — the app does not verify it and does not need it to be accurate.

Apart from this locally stored name, the app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information about you on any server. We do not ask for your email address, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal identifiers, and nothing you enter leaves your device.

how your data is stored

The name you enter, along with all story progress, choices, unlocked content, and app preferences, is stored locally on your own device using your device's standard local storage (SharedPreferences). This information never leaves your phone. If you delete the app, this locally stored data is removed along with it.

accounts and login

The app has no account system and no login. You can use everything in the app without registering or signing in.

analytics and crash reporting

The initial release of the app does not include any analytics or crash reporting tools or software development kits (SDKs). We do not track how you use the app.

In a future update, we plan to add Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand general usage trends and fix crashes. Before we enable any such tools, we will update this Privacy Policy to describe exactly what is collected and why, and we will comply with all applicable platform requirements.

advertising

The initial release of the app does not show advertisements and does not include any advertising SDKs.

In a future update, we plan to introduce advertisements through Google AdMob. Before we do, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly. On Apple devices, we will also present the required App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt and honor your choice, as required by Apple.

sharing with third parties

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any of your data with third parties. Because the app does not collect personal data at launch, there is nothing to share.

children's privacy

The app is intended for a general, mature horror audience. It does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. Because the app does not collect personal data, no personal information from children is gathered. If you believe a child has provided information to us in some way, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

contact

changes to this policy

We reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time, particularly as new features such as analytics or advertising are introduced. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
